Brunch
It has been a while since I made brunch and on this day I had a competent assistant that actually made most of the food whereas I merely gave out instructions and made creamy scrambled eggs and pancakes. Because they are so very tasty. Lol.
Boiled asparagus
Bacon
Mushrooms
English sausages
Pancakes
Creamy scrambles
I have adapted another pancake recipe from here today. This tastes pretty nice. Maybe I could make it with buttermilk next time.
The scrambles were too creamy for some so I'll make some sunny side ups in future or I can make the scrambles less creamy. I added pure cream and butter to the scrambles.
I couldn't do an artistic shot or pour maple syrup over with loads of butter or pepper the scrambles because I was hot and flustered with all the cooking. My hands were greasy. Stomachs were growling. So I just did an obligatory shot but I'll make sure next time I'll do a better shot.

Porta Porta - Stanley Street
Wanting to do an alfresco this time round seemed almost an impossible task as we were bombed by the loud drills coming from a construction site opposite, coercing us to retreat back in the restaurant. We saw another table do the same before deciding to follow suit. This was my second time returning this branch and I must say that my tummy and I were the most happy when the meal ended.
The bread and the olive tapenade (i guess) did just the thing that they were supposed to do. Fill our tummies and boosted our appetite for what's going to follow next.narrative food diary by ah Teo at 1:35 PM 5 connoisseur(s)

Pasta Brava
The ravioli stuffed pumpkin and coated with capsicum cream was brilliantly executed. I could taste the capsicum in the saltish cream and the ravioli was cooked just right. The pumpkin filling was like a delicacy to me because it tasted real (i.e no fillers) and it was sweetish. Making this more like a dessert pasta dish.
